Foreign Workers Insurance
As an employer, you need to buy a medical insurance for each foreign worker you employ.
a) Foreign Worker Insurance Guarantee (IG)
This is a guarantee required by the Immigration Department from you as a security deposit for the employment of foreign workers (excluding Domestic Maid) under regulation 21 of the Immigration Regulations
It guarantees to pay the Director General of Immigration of Malaysian up to a maximum aggregate sum of the guarantee value, in the event that anyone of foreign workers is repatriated in the course of stay in Malaysia.
The amount of guarantee fees according to nationality, sum guarantee fees from the lowest RM250.00 until RM1500.00.
b) Foreign Worker Compensation Scheme (FWCS)
This is for employers who are employing foreign workers must comply with the statutory requirement Under Section 26(2) of the Amended Workmen’s Compensation to purchase this insurance to protect their foreign workers.
